A 0 to 100 score for whether today is a day to go hard. Distinct from Recovery, which asks whether you have bounced back.
Recovery asks whether your body has recovered. Readiness asks whether you should train hard today. They usually agree, but not always: a recovered body after a week of heavy load still gets a cautious readiness.
Recovery, 65%. The backbone. Readiness follows it closely.
Sleep, 20%. Last night, as a short-term modulator.
Load, 15%. This week's training against the last four weeks. When there is no four-week history, load drops out and the weight moves onto recovery and sleep instead of being faked.
A day with every signal at your baseline, seven hours of sleep, and a normal training week lands in the low sixties, which is Ready. Primed is reserved for a day when recovery is genuinely strong and sleep was long. A load spike or a weak recovery pulls the score into Moderate.
80 and up, Primed.
60 to 79, Ready. No color in the app. An ordinary day is meant to look ordinary.
40 to 59, Moderate.
20 to 39, Caution.
Under 20, Rest.
A night with no sleep record is not scored as eight hours. The sleep input drops out, and the day is held conservative so it cannot read Primed on HRV alone.
Readiness is on the Insights tab, in the Scores widget, on the Apple Watch, and in a lock screen complication. Every one of those is free.
